Charles
Charles
  • belgian pop

It only took the 20 year old Charlotte Foret a debut single to kickstart her career as Charles: “Wasted Time” was an instant hit. With the EP “Falling While Rising” she confirms her musicial identity. Thoughout the 6 tracks Charles tackles autobiographical and universal themes. She does not limit her to one genre as with her unique and versatile voice she gets away with every musical direction : alternative pop, indie rock, grunge, ballad. She’s deep and dark but also airy and luminous. Dark outside, soft inside. Listening to Falling While Rising is falling down, getting up and starting all over again.

Friday 22.04
La Jungle
La Jungle
  • belgian indie

While definitely a child of noise rock, La Jungle takes bits-and-bobs from the whole music spectrum and loop them live with the aim to create compulsive and repetitive sequences. Hypnotic, spontaneous and willingly throbbing, sometimes bordering on an endless groove, their music may even include brief oriental doom pulses or metal diversions bang in the middle of some kraut rock epic trip.

Friday 22.04
Glauque
Glauque

Glauque are not the first band attempting to blur the frontiers between electronic music and hip-hop, and doing so with a French-speaking voice. Many contemporary artists in France and Belgium have chosen these two genres to make music and express themselves, and some of them have even had great chart success. Glauque do their own thing, though. It’s perceivable in their keen sense of aesthetics, in their poetic lyrics and of course in their music itself, which is dark and tender, intimate and rebellious, atmospheric and striking.

C/O POP

The c/o pop Festival has been bringing national and international acts from the fields of electro, indie, hiphop/rap and related styles to Cologne's stages since 2004 - including both established artists and newcomers. In recent years, the focus has increasingly shifted towards national newcomers - after all, c/o pop sees itself as a festival of discovery.
